I have removed the wifi card, use onboard video, don't have a BlueTooth Adapter. I have a Gigabyte GA-z87n-wifi with 8GB of RAM. Sometimes they don't mount at all, or slowly one at a time after a crash. One is set up as my TimeMachine backup drive. They don't always mount right after a crash and although it is difficult to keep them disconnected for days at a time, I don't seem to get crashes without them. I have two external drives connected to the USB 3.0 port. It took me a while to see any pattern, but then I noticed that it seems linked to USB drives.
